  • Monday was a HUGE day for the Shiny community as the Shiny Feathers have officially sold out! Remember that holding a Shiny Feather means you're able to use SuperSea after the required holding time. If you are not aware of the activation mechanism, you can check it out here. To read the whole post and to see what's next, go here.
  • Shiny has announced it's first incubation NFT project. Shiny announced their partnership with On The Tools to release TradiesNFT. To read more about the partnership, you can go here.
  • Shiny Feather and Magpie holders were eligible to be whitelisted for BattleFly, a P2E game coming out on Arbitrum and part of the Treasure ecosystem. You can verify if your address was whitelisted in this google docs.
  • No-code platform Softr recognized SHINY in their community newsletter for our front end beta site we are building using their platform: https://beta.shinyobjects.gg/.
  • This week we heard from @Dith about the development and launch of his Pixel Doods NFT project. To learn more about behind the scenes of launching an NFT, building a narrative, and minting out a project, check out the recording here.
  • There's a glitch going on where listings made previously are resurfacing when nfts are transferred back into the lister's wallets. OpenSea finally added a listings manager so that you can cancel listings to fix this issue.
  • Coachella is entering the NFT game and will be auctioning off 10 NFTs that will allow holders to gain lifetime access to Coachella.
  • @ahs asks the gigabrains @Ozzy, @CCollector and @b13l advice on when to sell a high-valued nft vs when you decide to keep. @CCollector answered with good questions to ask yourself before you sell: "are you in the community? how much value does that provide you in the space" and "are you trying to 2x over and over again or just have a nest egg?"
  • 100 Thieves, one of the biggest esport brands, dropped their first nft and had flawless execution. They made it free (even paid transaction fees), make it unlimited so everyone would have a chance to get one and also made sure to do it on Polygon, which is a more environmentally friendly (and less costly) blockchain. This stirred an interesting discussion talking about the future of nfts in the gaming industry and how this was a great way to onboard newcomers to the web3 space. @dom believes that this will push other esports orgs to follow suit and try to innovate with their fans in the coming months. You can follow all of the convo here.
  • Gumroad has taken some heat from some of their customers because it was leaked that they were considering working on projects related to crypto/NFTs. Obviously, all Shiny members are biased since we are in web3, but some of these arguments make no sense at all. What's sad is that you can't even attempt a discussion with most of these people. Just the mention of the letters NFT makes them go into a frenzy. If you want to follow along, you can start here.
  • Some lucky Shiny members were able to get the Starkade WL and thus a lot of them were interested in minting the project. Right after selling out, the floor price rose up to 0.4ETH until finally settling down at 0.25ETH, which is still a bit more than 3x the mint price of 0.08ETH.
  • @tom_hirst's Tiny Winged Turtlez are now live and a lot of Shiny members minted to support.
  • A lot of Shiny members were impatiently waiting for the Cool Pets drop, but unfortunately, it got delayed and pushed to the following week (Monday, February 7th). However, Cool Cat owners were able to claim their Cool Pets during the weekend.
  • @Ozzy shared a tweet reminding us to have the discipline to sell when the market is going up and have the patience to buy when it dips.
  • @Practical Principles shares their strategy on how they would try to become an influential pseudonymous contemporary artist in the nft world in 90 days.
  • @tom_hirst shares his article, The Ultimate Guide to Getting Started with NFTs, for folks new to NFTs.
  • @mec wrote an amazing article on NFT Security 101. If you want to keep your Shiny Objects safe (which everyone should be doing), this is a must read.
  • @Jac shares a new clever scam on Sudoswap, an nft trader platform. In this case, the scammer was trying to exchange 145WETH as an ERC721, when ETH is supposed to be an ERC20.
  • @number7dream shares a TL;DR of the new "Investment Club" product launched by SyndicateDAO.
  • @curtisjcummings is working on an open source wallet integration with support from the PoolSuite team.
  • @JayMac 's Arkivist project is previewing their first 1/1.
  • @mark0 and @truedrew were interviewed about the history and future of Bildr.
  • @jalil and the Punkscapes community are continuing to innovate, with the launch of Gallery Twenty Seven.
  • @Martin2roude has published the 3rd edition of his newsletter.
  • @fogg dogg [HAON] is doing early-stage promotions for their upcoming NFT launch.
  • @Sam published his latest Creator Club newsletter.
  • @codeless is showing us a preview of their first NFT project.
  • @awisemaninNotion is helping with DAO tooling, and collaborating with the Clarity team to build a workflow catered to Shiny✨.
  • Thanks to @Larkef's suggestion there is now a #gratitude channel.
  • @Larkef to @Janel: Kudos to Janel for being a great Shiny member. She's involved, answers questions, gets us WL spots, and is overall great and sharing great alpha. Only good vibes with her.
  • @FOGG DOGG to @czero: Wanna give a shoutout to czero for checking over my smart contract!
  • @Ian to @JonathaNFA: Big shout out to JonathaNFA for kindly fixing my MetaMask issue.
  • @LocalTourist to @grooveball: Huge thanks to grooveball who has gone through months of postings to the #gigs channel to pull out all the platforms where you can find web3 jobs (or hire staff).
  • @chrisv shared his web3 job board he built - https://learnweb3.info/ with no-code tools.

Thanks to @ahs, @LocalTourist, @Rickybobbles, @Amie, @dom and @scottdavidmeyer for contributing to this newsletter. Don’t forget to subscribe and listen to the podcast.
