  • The SHINY x Dose partnership officially kicked off today! Join us for bi-weekly 30 minute sessions. Each session will scroll between 4 key learning topics : Focus, Resilience, Creativity, Collaboration. You can find out details about our first week's session details here.
  • Ledger is launching a crypto debit card! The card will instantly exchange crypto to fiat, allow you to get your paycheck in crypto, and more. Sign up for the waitlist here.
  • Puma has decided to enter web3 with a bang by changing their name to PUMA.eth and announcing multiple partnerships with feline projects such as Gutter Cat Gang, Lazy Lions and Catblox. Puma also has a Cool Cat in their wallet, so it's very possible that a partnership with Cool Cats will be announced shortly after they are able to finally launch Cooltopia.
  • Normally, we reserve the thoughtful discussions mainly for NFT discussions, but this week was a bit different with Russia invading Ukraine. We really appreciated @Practical Principles post on the situation in reply to @jimmyrose sharing Zeneca's post on war.

I think this is a day where I figure out what's meaningful, important and deserving of energy. Where I appreciate the beauty I ignore every day and watch the sunset and feel grateful for everything.

    • The NFT community stepped up to help out in Ukraine. A project called RELI3F gathered 27 influential NFT artists, many who call Ukraine home. They donated their work to raise funds for Ukraine. They minted 200 editions of the 37 artists at .05eth, quickly selling out and raising 370 eth. You can read how they are distributing the money and see the transactions here in one of the most powerful examples of transparent fundraising.
    • @LocalTourist shared a tweet asking if anyone is working on the Morning Brew for NFTs. @Mac expressed surprise that this is not a Shiny product yet and suggested an NFT opinion piece, "Shiny Mornings - your daily dose of NFT info to make your mornings just a bit shinier." @Ozzy offered to fund this if anyone wants to incubate the product and provide support. @chrisv took the idea and launched the first version a few days after. You can view it here. Catch the start of the interaction in Discord here.
    • @christina_p asked for strategy suggestions for when you hold one average and one rare NFT from the same collection, and intend to sell one-- which one do you sell? @mac said if selling the average one nets a profit, sell and hold the rare one. @al3xs added he assume that the rare one will have a multiplier on its value if the project's value increases and that there is more of a chance of selling a rare NFT at a profit even if the floor drops below purchase price. @Dith looks at the mid-long term potential. For projects he is bearish on, he flips the rare immediately and for projects he is bullish on long term, he keeps the rare and sells the average one.
  • @CCollector was pretty bullish prior to Invisible Friends mint. A lot of people guessing the immediate floor would hover around 6-7ETH. Floor immediately went to 12ETH out of the gate. @mac also shared a good thread on why projects like Invisible Friends are bad for the NFT space.
  • Howlerz is a non-stealth stealth mint made by Non-fungible Noah. The shiny fam was pretty bullish on it because a lot of projects such as Deadfellaz, Toy Boogers and the Cryptoadz dev contributed to 1/1s for the collection. A bunch of Shiny members tried to mint the Howlerz contract early, but found out later that it was a rug. However, our own @Jac managed to mint 3 from the real contract. The official mint got botted hard and everything sold out in around 10 seconds.
  • @Kallaway released the latest Cryptoland podcast.
  • @Pet published the latest Sporting Crypto Newsletter.
  • @OTTbossman's Tradies NFT project is launching their roadmap.
  • @mark0 and the Bildr team have setup a Twitter account for their new gmLFG NFT portfolio tracker (and they will be talking about it on the next Shiny Build session, 2nd March).
  • @gilcarlos announced the Cybergoats NFT project and Marketplace.
  • @Ian ✦ᴗ✦ is preparing to launch his SpecScapes NFT collection.
  • @mac quietly launched minting for the Commsaur NFT project.
  • @rahuldotiyer is looking to feature underrepresented builders, artists, and people in the NFT space on their Twitter Spaces.
  • In this week's Let's Build session we talk to Clarity's lead dev Richie Bonilla to learn how Clarity aims to tackle project management in a web3 world. Catch the recording here.
